Corona fighting antibodies can occur within one out of every four people in the country. This has come out on the basis of Kovid-19 tests of a national-level private laboratory. Many civil corporations in cities and some of the country's leading research institutes (TIFR, IISER) survey results and expectations are generated. On Monday, more than 50% of sero-positivity was reported in some areas of Pune. Apart from this, the slums of Mumbai also saw 57% positivity. The first sero survey in Delhi states that 23% of the tested people were sero-positive. The results of the second sero survey will be out there this week.
If someone has Antibodies in the body, then he gets Covid-19 immunity. Although how long this immunity lasts, differences still remain.

The presence of antibodies in the body means that the person has acquired immunity from the corona. However, experts do not have an opinion on how long this immunity is for. When antibodies are found in more people over a range, it can develop herd immunity against the novel corona virus. Dr. Shashank Joshi, a member of Maharashtra Kovid Task Force, said, "India is the only country where some areas are showing so much sero-positivity. India is still far away from herd immunity
- 29% people in Delhi sero-positive
Antibody tests conducted by the Thyrocare Laboratory across the country showed that there is a high level of positivity at the local level. Lab managing director Arokiaswamy Velumani said that more than two lakh people have been tested in India so far. Of these, about 24% have antibodies to Kovid-19. In Delhi, this figure was 29% whereas in Maharashtra 27% people were exposed to the virus. Every third person from Thane was sero positive while in Navi Mumbai the rate was 21%.
- Why more immunity within Indians?
Thyrocare data shows that Vile Parle (East) has the highest number of sero-positivity (42.97%) within Mumbai. It was followed by Worli (41.94%) and Dongri (39.41%). A doctor at a government hospital in central Mumbai said that the reason for such a high immunity among Indians may be hidden in hygiene hypotheosis. He said, "We Indians are exposed to so many microorganisms that our immunity response is better".
