I was the head girl of the school and I had a science stream. After taking 97.5 percent in the board examination, I took admission in Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) College, Delhi University.- I was very lucky. In the first year of college, my mother and I were walking in a mall, mother was busy shopping and I went to the 'Miss Fresh Face' competition going on there. I participated in this competition and won. Later went to Mumbai where Miss India Organization saw me and asked me to participate. I started getting modeling offers and I lived my hobby live. After graduation, I was able to sit for UPSC exam and got ready.
I made a 10 + 8 + 6 formula for UPSC studies, i.e. 10 hours of study, 8 hours of sleep and 6 hours of doing any work of my choice. Strategy is very important in this exam. UPSC does not ask anything outside the syllabus, so it is very important to make notes. I used to make 2 page notes of a 100 page book. Material collector is better than keeping material shader.
In the interview, I was not asked anything about Miss India. He wanted to see how I could work like an officer and how much my ability was. Most of the questions were asked about my subject subject economics. My birthplace is Sirsa, so I was asked questions about Khap Panchayat in Haryana. At that time Donald Trump was coming to India, so questions were asked about India-US relations.
My father is from the Army background and the discipline at home is from childhood. Everybody is in the habit of getting up at 6 am every day. Mommy wanted me to do modeling and become Miss India, she was very happy to know that I became a finalist in Miss India. My mother Peeta never pressured me about anything and always motivated me to work hard.
